Leave Reims and take fast roads to the black forest and/or Vosges, then cut S past Lake Lusern over the Klausenpass to Braunwalt

  Braunwaldt (D) - Obergurgl (A)

Loop through some passes to the east around Innsbruck then over the Brenner & Passo de Rombo (N end) to Obergurgl.

   Obergurgl (A) - Zone (I)
(shared route with SELOC)

Passo de Rombo, Merano and climb Stelvio from the east for a change. Lunch oat Stelvio then Passo di Gavia and south to Zone.

  Zone (I)- Moustiers (F)
(shared route with SELOC)

Fast run west on autostrada to the Bra (yes really!) then Cuneo and the Col de Tende (tunnel), Col de Brouis, Col de Turini, Puget Teniers, Canyon de Verdun to Moustiers.

(SELOC leave the main group today, and head N to Gap)

Luberon/Vaucluse (A year in Provence country) via Apt to Carpentras. Various possibilities to Alès, then a Corniche des Cevennes, Gorges de Jonte to Millau.

(SELOC (now separated from the main group) continue to Lyon or Macon)

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE HOME - Anyone wishing to be back in the UK on Sunday 19th could stay here, then leave on Friday for Elizondo travelling through the best of the Spanish Pyrenees then take the same route home as the main group stopping at Le Mans on Saturday night.

 Vielha (S) - Siguenza (S)
(SELOC (now separated from the main group) return to UK)

South from Vielha then turn W onto the N260 over the Coll de Espina and the Coll de Fadasto Casteljon de Sos then N260 sw through the Congosto de Ventamillo to Campo then A139 to Graus and N123 to Barbasto. Cross country over the Col de Alcubierre to Zaragozo, then carinina and Codos to Catalayud then, A202 to Milmarcos, CM2107, N211, CM110
to Siguenza.

 Siguenza (S) - Toledo (S)

Loop around theeast of Madrid through the Sierra de Albarracin and the motes Universales to visit the Ciudad Encantada and Cuenca before heading across the plains to Toledo.

 Rest day in Toledo (S)

Swim, site see, enjoy the hotel and watch the Italian GP!

 Toledo (S) - Segovia (S)

Loop west through the Sierra de Gredos to Arenasde San Pedro and over the Puerto del Pico then east passing south of Avila through Barraco and over the Puerto de Guadarrama and the Puerto Navacarrada to Segovia.

 Tuesday  21/09/04

 Segovia (S) - Soria (S)

Back into the Sierra de Guadarrama and follow the mountains NE to Almazon then back roads through the forests to Soria.

 Wednesday  22/09/04

 Soria (S) - Cervera de Pisuerga (S)

Lots of passes through the Sierra de Urbion and Sierra de la Demanda to Burgos then cross country south of Aguilar del Campo to Cervera.

 Cervera de Pisuerga (S) - Santillana (S)

Loop west through the Cordillera cantabrica and Picos Europa to cangas then through the Sierra de Cuera to Santillana . Lots of big passes!

 Santillana (S) - Elizondo (S)

Back into the Cordillera Cantabrica and follow the mountains to the French border in the Pay basqur Pyrenees then stop near Biarritz.

 Elizondo (S) - Le Mans (F)

Easy run home. Mostly fast A routes and autoroute.
